The Art World has always been fascinating to me.
When I picked up a camera, for the first time, I could not believe how much beauty people find when they are actually paying attention. I started noticing how beautiful little things can be... and how easy it is for a simple landscape to bring you to tears.
The Human face is still a mistery for me. Perhaps that is why I choose to draw faces, instead of photographing them, thus making the process more personal to me. In the end, drawing is still my greatest passion.
People often ask me how do I choose subjects for my drawings. The truth is: I do not have a straight answer. If something fascinates me in a photograph - a sensation, a mood - I get the sudden urge to pick up a pencil and draw. Just like novelists, when they get new ideas for their books, I have the absolute need to capture that emotion in that specific moment... or it loses its sense.
It is difficult to explain, but I hope the images speak for themselves...
